On November 21st, Agnes Irwin premiered their own rendition of “The Addams Family”, captivating the audience with their ghoulish set design, choreography, and remarkable talent. Despite the long hours of preparation leading up to the performance, the cast poured their hearts into the production, skillfully blending themes of morbidity with humor to bring the story to life.
Each character contributed something unique to the performance, particularly Shelby Rhodes ‘27 as Wednesday, who portrayed rebellious traits with quirkiness and unexpected defiance. In contrast to Rhodes’s endearing portrayal, other characters, such as Uncle Fester, portrayed by Liz Storrer ‘26, infused the production with eccentricity and humor, forging a strong connection with the audience. The Moon and Me scene was particularly moving, bringing tears to everyone’s eyes, especially with the eye-catching visuals of set design and costumes.
As the performance reached its finale, the audience buzzed excitedly, clapping along with the cast and showcasing how remarkable the show was. Many left the theater with exhilaration, asserting that “The Addams Family” ranks among the finest musicals ever produced by Agnes Irwin—the blend of talented performers and charming storyline made for a truly unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.
