Meet the Co-Editors-in-Chief: Grace & Chloe

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Wick for the 2025-2026 school year! We are so excited to be your co-editors-in-chief for this year. We are both seniors and four-year members of the Wick, and have been honored to watch it grow and develop over our time in high school. We hope to make this year in the Wick a productive, fun, and collaborative publication!

Grace Meyerle

Grace joined the Wick in 9th grade. She was a senior writer until her junior year, at which point she served as the World News Section Editor. Her favorite part of serving on the staff is helping writers find inspiration and confidently put their words to paper; she wants Wickies to feel proud of their articles, curating a vision for how they present their beliefs to AIS. Her hope for this year is to help every member feel empowered during group brainstorming, as well as to promote self-advocacy for their ideas and rights to artistic expression during the editing process. When not working with the Wick staff, Grace can be found representing AIS crew on the Schuylkill, tutoring her fellow students in the Sharon Rudnicki Writing Center, leading writing exercises about anything from springtime to socks with the Creative Writing Club, playing tag at Morning Care, and spewing Latin and Greek eviscerations in the hallway. Grace also volunteers at the Penn Museum in the Roman gallery, and is interested in pursuing a career that honors her love of blending ancient truths with modern nuance: law. Beyond AIS, Grace enjoys meal-prepping, surreal fiction, and eating Greek yogurt.

Chloe Spears

Chloe has been involved in the Wick since 9th grade, serving as a senior writer in grades 9 and 10 and then Deputy Editor in 11th grade. She was also a Layout manager last year. Chloe focuses her leadership initiative on bringing a diverse set of student voices into the publication. She also advocates for a mixed media publication and encourages creative and artistic submissions. In addition, Chloe is most excited about training younger staff members in the layout and design process. Outside of the Wick, Chloe is the head captain of the robotics team, co-president of Empowering Girls in STEM, president of MedSpark, an active member of the New Forum Project, and a peer tutor in the Sharon Rudnicki Writing Center. She is interested in the balance between the humanities and STEM, and hopes to pursue a career in medicine in the future as a physician. Chloe plays piano competitively and values her weekly hospital volunteering. She also enjoys distance running, listening to Bad Bunny, and watching stand-up comedy.
