Dance Motion

Dance Motion

It has been a month since the one-night-only performance of Dance Motion, on February 11, 2022. The show, titled Night at the Museum, was amazing from an audience perspective, but I wanted to have a performer’s perspective as well, so I interviewed Emma Dickson ‘25 on her experience in the show and what she enjoyed about participating in Dance Motion.

What was your favorite part of Dance Motion?

My favorite parts of Dance Motion were the people I got to meet across all grades, and the new dance skills I got to learn.

What was your favorite number to perform?

My favorite number was Happier Than Ever because it was really emotional and intense, but also exciting and fun to learn.

How did the show being mostly run and choreographed by students affect the experience?

I think it was really fun to see students choreographing the numbers, but it did make things more chaotic sometimes.

All performing arts are a way to connect with fellow students on a deeper level, as you are part of something bigger and have to work together to make everything flow smoothly. Clearly, Dance Motion created this experience for the students who participated in it this year. The show was incredible to watch, and I’m so excited to see it next year!
